NeVER TOO LATE

Meet Daw Htay, a resilient 64 years old woman who is proving that it is never too late to start a new chapter. Just one month ago, she joined the CCM tailoring class, and the impact on her life has been life-changing. Before joining us, Daw Htay knew the basics of sewing but struggled to make ends meet. Since sharpening her skills at CCM, she has found steady work at a local market shop.

Before she only earned only 200 kyats per pair of baby pants. Now She earns 400 kyats per pair, doubling her pay. Her daily earnings brings home between 4,000 to 5,000 kyats every single day.

For a long time, Daw Htay stayed at home while her husband worked as a carpenter. However, life took a difficult turn when he suffered a stroke resulting in paralysis.

Today, Daw Htay is the sole provider and primary caregiver for her husband. Her new sewing skills haven't just given her a job, they’ve given her the financial independence to take care of the person she loves most.
