Welcome to this month’s SPM newsletter.

As we draw close to Christmas and the time we celebrate light coming to darkness in the form of a vulnerable baby, we reflect on your faithful generosity and support in bringing hope and light to Myanmar. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

OUR PROJECTS

Health for the Hidden

While patients continue to be treated, the core training programs run by Earth Mission continue for 61 PA students, 15 Engineering Tech students and 5 Natural Farming students.

Now that rainy season has ended it brings on a busy time. Transport of equipment and medicine is now easier. The chilly nights bring an onslaught of pneumonia cases, and the dry roads bring patients with somewhat more elective types of surgeries.

Community Care

As well as the normal school activities our local partner working in the informal settlement put on a special meal for the students and others in the community. 400 people were fed a delicious meal.

The team also organised a Game and Fun Activities Day for the children who got to laugh, work on their coordination skills, and practice team work.

Our Christmas Campaign will continue until the end of December so you still have time to contribute to bringing light, education and medical supplies to communities our local partners are working with.

Even in the darkest times, light still shines. Help light up a school, clinics, and hearts in Myanmar this Christmas.

Update on Naw Gay - Thanks for your love and concern for Naw Gay, a young medic who was badly burnt in a fire bomb attack. You can read the latest update on her rehabilitation here.

The Election - Myanmar’s military announced plans for the first general election since they seized power in 2021 which is to be held over late December and early January. This is considered both illegal and illegitimate. Pray that Myanmar will be transformed into a true representational democracy where the rights of all are upheld.
